This article will detail the working principle, functional characteristics, usage, and applications in dental treatment of this dental curing light that can detect dental plaque.
### I. Working Principle
The working principle of a dental curing light is mainly based on the curing effect of specific wavelengths of light emitted by the light source on dental restorative materials. Traditional curing lights mainly use halogen lamps as the light source, emitting full-spectrum light through the principle of light emission from heated objects. Then, a filter is used to filter out unnecessary infrared and ultraviolet light, finally outputting blue light for curing. Modern dental curing lights, especially LED curing lights, use light-emitting diodes as the light source, emitting light of a certain wavelength effective for dental restorative materials, usually high-energy short-wave blue light (wavelength between 420nm~480nm). These light rays are collected and output by the light guide element, causing the dental restorative material to cure rapidly under the action of radiant energy.
### II. Functional Characteristics
Dental curing lights that can detect dental plaque have more diverse functional characteristics, meeting the needs of dentists in different treatment scenarios:
1. **Specialized High-Power LED**: Uses a dental-grade high-power LED light source, emitting high-purity light with high curing efficiency.
2. **Multiple Working Modes**: Provides multiple working modes such as strong light, gradual brightening, and flashing to adapt to curing needs in different situations. The weak light mode can be used to guide the movement of molecules within the resin, promoting the formation of long-chain macromolecules, while the strong light mode is used for rapid curing of materials.
3. **Photometric Base**: Equipped with a photometric base to measure light intensity at any time and select the appropriate light intensity for treatment.
5. **Side Button for Purple Light Irradiation**: Pressing the side button emits purple light, which can detect caries and dental plaque.
