Traditional dental handpieces connect to the treatment unit via threaded tightening. Frequent replacement of burs or sterilization requires repeated assembly and disassembly, which is time-consuming and prone to interface wear. The introduction of a quick-connect design, using a snap-fit structure to achieve "one-press connection," reduces bur replacement time from 30 seconds to 5 seconds, significantly improving treatment efficiency.

1. Four-point water spray: precise cooling to protect pulp health

The core function of a dental high-speed handpiece is to cut dental tissue, but the heat generated by high-speed friction, if not controlled promptly, may cause irreversible damage to the dental pulp. Traditional single-point or two-point water spray designs have limited coverage and struggle to cool evenly, especially increasing the risk of heat damage during deep caries treatment or impacted tooth extraction.

 

The four-point water spray technology uses four symmetrically distributed spray holes around the handpiece head to form a 360° surround cooling system. Taking the NSK Pana-Max2 series as an example, its dual water supply system can deliver a precise spray volume of 50 milliliters per minute, with mist evenly enveloping the tip of the bur, ensuring the cutting area temperature remains below the pulp tolerance threshold.

 

Additionally, the synergy between the four-point water spray and atomizing air holes further optimizes visibility. The atomizing air holes adjust air pressure to disperse water mist into micron-sized particles, preventing blood splatter from interfering with the operation and reducing water accumulation discomfort inside the patient's mouth.

2. Four-point anti-suction: blocking cross-infection to safeguard treatment safety

Suction backflow is a major source of cross-infection in dental equipment. When the high-speed handpiece stops running, blood, saliva, and microorganisms in the oral cavity may be drawn into the handpiece due to negative pressure, contaminating bearings, pipelines, and other components. Traditional equipment lacks effective blocking mechanisms, resulting in a high risk of cross-infection between patients.

 

The four-point anti-suction technology completely solves this problem through a dual design of mechanical braking and one-way valves. For example, Beijing Dongbo Company's "air-stop brake technology" features a built-in check valve that closes the air intake channel within 0.5 seconds when airflow is interrupted, while the ceramic bearing's inertial braking quickly stops the turbine rotation, controlling backflow to 0.1 milligrams—far below the industry standard requirement of 100 milligrams.
